Features: This is an application that sends out video files as if it has been generated by a webcam in the machine. Adds a virtual software camera to your operating system and allows you to use it as a real camera. When you play a pre-recorded video or photo albums it can be sent through the messenger or video chat software. It can even broadcast the same clip to all the messengers at the same time. It adds a virtual camera to your system without having an actual webcam. If there`s a real webcam present you would be able to switch to it too. It can be used with all instant messengers like MSN, Yahoo, AOL, ICQ, Camfrog Video Chat.

You can thus easily simulate the situation as if you have a real webcam present. You are able to share video clips with family and friends. It is compatible with instant messengers like yahoo, MSN, Paltalk, AIM, Skype and video chat like Paltalk, Camfrog, AnyWebcam Flash based portals like YouTube etc. It is compatible with Windows XP, 2003 and Vista etc.

Overall: A nice program for the given function. But the question is do you need such an application when webcams cost hardly anything and you can do the real video chat!

I decided to register it, that is how much I liked it. I`m using XP Pro SP3 and generally have little or no problems with Webcam Simulator. And YES it does work well with Camfrog Pro (I use the latest versions) and with MSN Messenger Live.

Custody

The software is well-written and I haven`t found a single webcam application that failed to recognize and use the webcam simulator virtual camera 100% correctly. I`d recommend this to anyone.

I’ve been blogging for a while and never got into the video side of things. Recently that has changed. I had an old webcam that was sitting in a box in my closet and plugged it in. It wasn’t the best but I started playing around with it, after getting comfortable with it, I realized if I wanted to start making videos, I should have better hardware and software to get the job done right. So I went online and got a new Logitech since it had some great reviews and fired it up. I like the software that came with it but I knew there was better software available and just had to find something. I remember a couple years ago Chris Pirillo did a review of webcam software and did some searching to see what he uses. Turns out he still uses the same webcam software he did way back then. Webcam Simulator is the best way to go.

For the last few days I have kicked the tires on a piece of software called Webcam Simulator and I am really excited about it. The more I use it, the more I know it will become one of the software tools I use for creating online piano lessons. I think it opens up new benefits to my online private students and will streamline my content creation.
